Simon and Nathan are trapped by the enemy, POWs in the middle of the desert, but they’re not being held by who they though their enemy was. The war they thought they were fighting is about more than just terrorists, but dirty corrupted Generals. The two stumble into a deadly situation and make it home alive, but not unscathed.

As they make their escape, Simon is shot in both legs and dragged to safety by Nathan. But the welcome the two receive at the hospital is not what they were hoping for. What they uncovered in the desert leads to two honorable discharges from the army and being sent home, knowing that what they found was wrong.

Now Carolyn faces a challenge she didn’t expect in the man she thought would be happy to see her. Simon’s pride is wounded and he feels she can’t face Carolyn, coming home injured and rejected from the one family he’d thought he found. Will she be strong enough to face him and pull Simon back from the brink of his own destruction?

Or will she lose him through the dark door that leads to the past he’s tried to stay away from.
