Savvy is a great book, with a story about family that is spiced up with just a pinch of magic! In the book, a young woman named Mississippi, or "Mibs", strives to find her place in the world. Along with her are a group of friends that she had never expected. Throughout their journey they come by some crazy things that could only happen to them. In the end, however, the story is not as much about the magic as it is about the heartwarming family aspect of the book. It teaches you to appreciate any "flaws" that you might have, because the fact that you got them from your family is good enough.

This book was about Savvy the magical secret living in the Beaumont family. Savvy is magic. In the Beaumont family when you turned thirteen your whole life changed. You would have a special magical power and you would have to learn to control it. After her father was in a terrible accident Mib starts an adventure hoping that her savvy will be able to save her father.
This book is a wonderful read for Harry Potter or Percy Jackson fans. Even if you aren't drawn to that genre this book covers many boundaries. It is a compelling plot that you can bury yourself in for hours, and is one of the books where you feel as if you are on the spot watching the action take place. I love this book.
This book was great! I highly recommend it to 4th grade-8th grade readers. Mississippi Beaumont is not the kind of girl that most people make friends with. You might call her weird. She and her family are very out of the ordinary. The Beaumont family is a family of ordinary people who have extraordinary supernatural powers. They get these powers when they turn thirteen. But, Just days before Mibs' (Mississippi) special day, her dad gets himself landed in the hospital after a freak car crash. On her birthday, Mibs' dad is still unconscious. And when she gets her magical power, her savvy, she knows she's got to go help him. It's a great book. I picked it up and couldn't put it down!

Savvy is a fast paced fantasy story that will grab reader's attention easily. I didn't want to put this book down, and I doubt other readers will, either! The book seems interesting enough during most of it, but when I got to the twist, I was shocked! This book is quite long, and worth every word read. The main character, Mibs, is as funny, heartfelt, and unforgettable as the book. Every character has an important and meaningful role, and provide laughs throughout everything. This coming of age story deals with friendship, loss, hope, acceptance, and many other meaningful topics. Readers will definitely be able to relate to this tale spun by Ingrid Law.
