The Ickabog
By J K Rowling
Once upon a time there was a tiny kingdom called Cornucopia, as rich in happiness as it was in gold, and famous for its food. From the delicate cream cheeses of Kurdsburg to the Hopes-of-Heaven pastries of Chouxville, each was so delicious that people wept with joy as they ate them.
But even in this happy kingdom, a monster lurks. Legend tells of a fearsome creature living far to the north in the Marshlands... the Ickabog. Some say it breathes fire, spits poison, and roars through the mist as it carries off wayward sheep and children alike. Some say it's just a myth...
And when that myth takes on a life of its own, casting a shadow over the kingdom, two children - best friends Bert and Daisy - embark on a great adventure to untangle the truth and find out where the real monster lies, bringing hope and happiness to Cornucopia once more.
Featuring full color illustrations by children from across the United States and Canada, this original fairy tale from one of the world's most celebrated storytellers will captivate readers of all ages.

this book is AMAZING! I just read it because of you know, Harry Potter but this is so different! See my reveiw on this book!
Set in the magical land of Cornucopia, everything seems hapy. King Fred the Fearless seems a good king. But the men who aren't good are Lords Spittleworth and Flapoon. When King Fred decides to go on a daring quest to the marshlands to kill the Ickabog, Major Beamish, Fred's Major in the army, gets shot on accident by Flapoon. Spittleworth invents a cover up story that "The Ickabog did it" and warns the country with lies. Cornucopia is taken over by Lord Spittleworth, who is hungry for gold. Meanwhile, the two heroes of the story, Bert and Daisy, embark to save Cornucopia. They must escape Ma Grunter's orphanage, and enter the Marshlands to discover if the Ickabog is real. Written by the famous author of the Harry Potter books, The Ickabog is an amazing tale.
In the country of Cornucopia, happiness rings. In Chouxville, pastry are so delicious, people will cry of pain to have a Hope-of-Heaven. In Kurdsburg, the cheeses are so soft and tasty that no one is left hungry. In Jeroboam, the wine is delicious and saved for special occasions. And in Baronstown, the meat and sausages are so tender and juicy. But there's one town I haven't mentioned. That is the Marshlands. The Marshlands are a horrible place- sheep gets stealed, people are hungry and poor, and the tale of the Ickabog came from there. The Ickabog is a nasty beast who eats sheep and innocent humans who wander into the marsh at dark. As tall as two horses with eyes like glowing lamps- the Ickabog is here! King Fred the Fearless (Who is not very fearless, I must add) should be doing something, but he's too scared from his last close call with the Ickabog. Letting his best friends (Villains and horrible men) Lord Spittleworth and Lord Flapoon take control, the Ickabog is made into legend who now has guards stationed around the marsh, Cornocipia growing broke, and many innocent deaths and captures. But can Daisy Dovetail, Bert Beamish, and some other friends save the Ickabog and do what's right for the kingdom? Happy reading!
