This special edition of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone has a gorgeous new cover illustration by Kazu Kibuishi. Inside is the full text of the original novel, with decorations by Mary GrandPré.

Harry Potter has never been the star of a Quidditch team, scoring points while riding a broom far above the ground. He knows no spells, has never helped to hatch a dragon, and has never worn a cloak of invisibility.

All he knows is a miserable life with the Dursleys, his horrible aunt and uncle, and their abominable son, Dudley — a great big swollen spoiled bully. Harry’s room is a tiny closet at the foot of the stairs, and he hasn’t had a birthday party in eleven years.

But all that is about to change when a mysterious letter arrives by owl messenger: a letter with an invitation to an incredible place that Harry — and anyone who reads about him — will find unforgettable.

For it’s there that he finds not only friends, aerial sports, and magic in everything from classes to meals, but a great destiny that’s been waiting for him… if Harry can survive the encounter.

This book is boring! Only the SAME things go on again, and again, and again! OMG!! This is sooo, boring! I don't like it, bot because of its SUPERscary parts (which is one of the reasons), but because of its SUPERboringness! I want to give it zero stars!!

its not boring you probably would like the movies also barely anything repeats

Come on! It is not that bad!

I have to disagree and check out my other comment to see why!

Come on, it’s not bad. I LOVE Harry Potter books. They are so good! At first, before I read it, I thought it was a little boring too. But after I was old enough (one year later) I read the first book and I liked it! Maybe later you can read the whole book all over again. Maybe you will like it. Who knows?

I reallyyyyyyy like harry potter and I decided to read it because I loved the movie so I decided to Read the book, too.

i think it a really good book i also like the movies

The Harry Potter series will make you fall in love will all things magic! I'll be honest, I've never really been interested in the Harry Potter fandom. I just never understood the appeal. When my friends started talking about it more though, and when I started seeing pictures of it and how dreamy it looked, I realized why it's so popular. The first book is about Harry's beginning. Its central theme is definitely bravery, and the book includes a few scary moments. For me the ending was unexpected, and so was the rest of the book. I recommend watching the movies as you finish each book to keep you motivated. I really like this series.

Hey, I'm ilovbooks, if you want to see my DOGO news account, my user name is ilovbooks. Back to Harry Potter- Harry Potter is a mystery and magical book including many twists and unexpecting moments. Let your brain imagine and tune in with its detailed and magical story. When Harry's a baby, Voldemort kills his parents with a killing curse. Dumbledore delivers Harry to his aunt and uncle who treats him horribly. They lie to him and say his parents died in a car crash. On Harry's 11th birthday, Hagrid comes to get Harry to Hogwarts (a place where they teach magic), Harry makes friends named Ron and Hermione. Hagrid gets something from Gringotts (a bank.) What is it? Harry gets sorted into Gryffindor. They think that someone is going to steal what Hagrid got from Gringotts. Read the book if it interests you. I love the series, I've read the whole. I think its great however some people may not like it.

Do you like mystery, magic, and a little bit of horror? If so, direct your attention tho the Harry Potter series! The Sorcerer's Stone is called The Philosopher's Stone in England. This is a great book, getting starting fans hooked, and already fans renewed! I have read the entire series many times. In this book, Harry was a normal wizard boy, with wonderful parents and a nice house. Before he could walk and talk, his parents were murdered by the most dark wizard of all time: Lord Voldemort. He is sent to live with his muggle relatives where he was treated as a slave until he was 11. Mysterious letters arrive for him from a Wizarding school. It takes a long time before Harry even gets to open this letter. When he does, he learns he has been excepted into Hogwarts, the Wizarding school. How will it turn out for Harry? Read the book to find out!
