This special edition of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone has a gorgeous new cover illustration by Kazu Kibuishi. Inside is the full text of the original novel, with decorations by Mary GrandPré.

Harry Potter has never been the star of a Quidditch team, scoring points while riding a broom far above the ground. He knows no spells, has never helped to hatch a dragon, and has never worn a cloak of invisibility.

All he knows is a miserable life with the Dursleys, his horrible aunt and uncle, and their abominable son, Dudley — a great big swollen spoiled bully. Harry’s room is a tiny closet at the foot of the stairs, and he hasn’t had a birthday party in eleven years.

But all that is about to change when a mysterious letter arrives by owl messenger: a letter with an invitation to an incredible place that Harry — and anyone who reads about him — will find unforgettable.

For it’s there that he finds not only friends, aerial sports, and magic in everything from classes to meals, but a great destiny that’s been waiting for him… if Harry can survive the encounter.

For people deciding if they should read this book, just read it. This is not the best book in the series, for sure, but the rest of the series is just..... Amazing. Everyone thinks the harry Potter series is hyped up, but it really isn't. The first book, I have to say, is pretty boring. It's just setting the mood, but once you get past the first, maybe second, and maybe even third book, you'll see how much of a genius Rowling really is. I have never liked fantasy, and I loved this series, I hate rereading books, and I've read this series 10 times, so just read it. If you really don't want to put your time into it, get the audiobook, Jim Dale is an amazing narrator and you can listen to it while you're doing something else

Awesome fantasy twist, will keep you intrigued for a loooong time!!!

My dad always wanted me to read this book but I thought I didn't like Harry Potter and it was boring but when I finally tried it it was amazing! Best book ever! Besides the book Blaire

I am a very big fan for harry poter and astro and seventeen ans bts and jessi and ma ma moo I saw all the movie and book of harry potter and i memorize the storys

this is a great series

I started reading it and it's safe to say that I am completely confused! If you're VERY ADHD like me, I would not recommend you read this. I got extremely bored. There were so many pages, and in most of them, nothing happened. That's why I'm sticking to Percy Jackson, Heroes of Olympus, and Trials of Apollo. Oh, and Diary Of A Wimpy Kid too. There is no book more confusing and boring than this one in my opinion.

This book is probably the best out of all. (harry potter series) Its when it all happens.

Hermione-Maybe? Hermione-Maybe?

Try this series. J.k. Rowling has made a great gateway to the magical world of Hogwarts. read it!

love it!! 😁👍

A boy who learns on his eleventh birthday that he is the orphaned son of two powerful wizards and possesses unique magical powers of his own. He is summoned from his life as an unwanted child to become a student at Hogwarts, an English boarding school for wizards. There, he meets several friends who become his closest allies and help him discover the truth about his parents' mysterious deaths. This book series got me through so much and i'm so happy that my family was able to get me on these books at a young age. These books have become an escape for me and i have no idea what i would be like without them, 10/10 would recommend.
