This special edition of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone has a gorgeous new cover illustration by Kazu Kibuishi. Inside is the full text of the original novel, with decorations by Mary GrandPré.

Harry Potter has never been the star of a Quidditch team, scoring points while riding a broom far above the ground. He knows no spells, has never helped to hatch a dragon, and has never worn a cloak of invisibility.

All he knows is a miserable life with the Dursleys, his horrible aunt and uncle, and their abominable son, Dudley — a great big swollen spoiled bully. Harry’s room is a tiny closet at the foot of the stairs, and he hasn’t had a birthday party in eleven years.

But all that is about to change when a mysterious letter arrives by owl messenger: a letter with an invitation to an incredible place that Harry — and anyone who reads about him — will find unforgettable.

For it’s there that he finds not only friends, aerial sports, and magic in everything from classes to meals, but a great destiny that’s been waiting for him… if Harry can survive the encounter.

l've heard that the movie is really scary.l hate bloody movies.

It only scary for little kids......there is only 2 blood scenes and there not until the end!

Harry Potter is a wizard! Finally he can leave his aunt, uncle, and cousin. He finds out about Nicolas Flamel, and he and his friends are ready to solve the mystery. They also do research on the sorcerer's stone (also known as the philosopher's stone) which is mysteriously connected to Nicolas Flamel. The stone can do amazing things, and his sworn enemy is determined to get it. Can Harry save the day?

Amazing. you can feel the magic through the book. The feeling you get when reading this series is just wonderful.

I read this book some months ago... and I watched the movies 1 to 7 but....the movie can beat the reader's imaginations. I read the book bcs I wanted to watch the movie. Well, I admit that the book was more fun. It's such an easy book...but I don't recommend it to young readers. The fact that Voldemort exists is just horrible...ㅜ.ㅜ Don't watch the movie first...read the book first. I like the movies but sometimes..? it's an IMAGINATION CRASHING thingie. Now, here goes nothing...let's do some spoilers..:p //okay, this book is about a young wizard named Harry Potter (Harry James Potter)who doesn't have parents and don't even know why they died...and now stuck in Privet Drive don't knowing he is a wizard. one day when he is 11, a letter arrives at Privet Drive for Harry. And Harry goes to Hogwarts school of Witchcraft and Wizardry. While he is at Hogwarts, professor Quirell (the book didn't said he was...but I think he is probably a Death Eater=>Voldemort supporter/servant) plans to steal the Sorcerer's Stone(Philosopher's Stone) from Hogwarts. Harry and his friend Ron Weasley(Ronald Billius Weasley)and Hermione Granger(Hermione Jean Granger) stops Quirell and Albus Dumbledore (Albus Percieval Wulfric Brian Dumbledore) destroys the Sorcerer's Stone and Dumbledore's old friend sir Nicholas Flamel dies(he has lived this long=>650years bcs of the Sorcerer's Stone) Spoiler finish!! let's not say things about Horcruxes in this book^^ just read the Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets if you want to know more...all the books are really fun♡♡

i love this book because its realy ongoing and SOOOOOOO great like bruh like bruh i love harry potter and this is the GOOD ONE :P

This book is good, but I don't get why everybody hates slytherin. Furthermore, I don't get how Crabbe and Goyle got into the house. If they're as stupid as the book says, they shouldn't have gotten into slytherin, rather, hufflepuff, since slytherin is the " house of the cunning"

I decided to read this book when my parents played the audio book in the car. I was instantly hooked. Have read around 4 times. One of the worst mistakes someone can make in the book world is not reading the Harry Potter series

I read this SO MANY TIMES!!! The Harry Potter series is the best! My fave quote from this is probably "GRYFFINDOOR!!!"
