Life is boring when you live in the real world, instead of starring in your own book series. Owen knows that better than anyone, what with the real world’s homework and chores.
But everything changes the day Owen sees the impossible happen—his classmate Bethany climb out of a book in the library. It turns out Bethany’s half-fictional and has been searching every book she can find for her missing father, a fictional character.
Bethany can’t let anyone else learn her secret, so Owen makes her a deal: All she has to do is take him into a book in Owen’s favorite Kiel Gnomenfoot series, and he’ll never say a word. Besides, visiting the book might help Bethany find her father…
…Or it might just destroy the Kiel Gnomenfoot series, reveal Bethany’s secret to the entire world, and force Owen to live out Kiel Gnomenfoot’s final (very final) adventure.

This book is AMAZING! I really liked the mix of books and adventures. This book includes a story, a girl who can jump into stories, a friend to the girl who can jump into stories, and a bunch of other stories. Owen is a regular kid who loves the Kiel Gnomenfoot series. Bethany is a girl who is half-fictional (long story) and is jumping into books, looking for her father (against her mother's permission. Of course, like in every book, these two world's collide. If you just wait awhile, you'll meet the Magister and Kiel Gnomenfoot, the main characters of the Kiel Gnomenfoot series. Through a series of misinterpretations, the Magister tries to change the balance of both fictional and real world's, with Bethany, Kiel, and Mr. Jonathan Porterhouse at his knees. Meanwhile, Owen took it upon himself to replace Kiel (with the help of the mysterious magician named Nobody) and lives out the 7th and final book of the Kiel Gnomenfoot series with Charm, the half-human and half-robot sidekick of Kiel. With the chapters of Story Thieves alternating between Bethany & Kiel facing of the Magister and Owen & Charm trying to save Magistria, this is a phenomenal debut of James Riley's Story Thieves trilogy. I can't wait to read Bethany, Owen, and Kiel's next adventure.
This book was OK, since i kinda got bored reading it, but one thing i liked was since Bethany trusted Owen and they very riskily entered the book since if they failed, Bethany would be revealed to the world.
Read this book to find out what happens when Bethany and Owen go back and forth between the real world and the fictional world of books. Bethany, who is half-fictional is on a mission to find her fictional father. This is a good book and I can't wait to read to read the next one!
This is a really good book about a girl named Bethany and a boy named Owen. Bethany goes into Owen's favorite book. Bethany needed to go into the book to find her father. You have to read it to find out more.
Story thieves is a great book that leaves the readers breathless and hooked! The book was very interesting and somethings I'd never expect but I loved it! The book is lovely and amazing. I would recommend this book to everyone who loves books!
This book was interesting. Owen saw Bethany jump out of a book. Now he wants to go into his favorite book in return of keeping her secret quiet. Then, Owen messes up the book and lets some of the characters out on accident. Will he and Bethany ever make things right? Read to find out!
Story Thieves is a really amazing book. Its about a very average boy named Owen. When he finds out his classmate Bethany can go into books he is thrilled. To keep him from spilling her secret, Bethany promises to bring him into a book. Once inside the book Owen catches the attention of the characters and ruins the story. He sets off on a adventure acting at the main character. With a funny, action-packed plot, Story Thieves is a book you'll never want to end.

Oliver's life changes when he sees Bethany jump out of a book, and he can't just leave this opportunity to rest. He asks Bethany to take him into his favorite book. BIG MISTAKE, he ends the book and destroys the story. They get separated and discover the war going on. Oliver takes the place of his favorite hero and Bethany with the help of a friend tries to stop a person from ending the writers. This brings Bethany and Oliver closer together but, Bethany no closer to finding her father her main goal. Overall it was an okay book.
