This book was so powerful and tragic. The story is told through the innocent eyes of a young boy who happens to be the son of a Nazi officer, during the Holocaust. The young boy doesn't understand what was going on during that time period, not having any idea on what his father's job really was. After moving to a house nearby a concentration camp, the young boy starts to explore and eventually comes across another young boy, the same age as himself. They become friends, and two young, innocent boys eventually start to realize the real horrors of what was happening around them. It really was a spectacular book, and after I finished reading the book, the story still stuck with me.

This book is my absolute favorite book ever! I can't wait until the film adaptation comes out, because the story is so meaningful. The author successfully combines romance with tragedy and comedy. It's an amazing Young Adult Fiction that grasps the reader. It gives readers a look at the lives of people who have been diagnosed with cancer. The book has many sad moments, happy moments, and of course, romantic moments. It's definitely a MUST-READ!!!

"I am Number Four" is a sci-fi thriller that is suspenseful and action-packed. It tells the story of "Number Four," who is an alien from a planet that has been destroyed. When his home planet was almost destroyed, he was sent to Earth with others. There were the ones who would develop powers, and the ones who would guide and help raise the ones with powers. The beings that would develop powers were blessed with an enchantment. When the beings were separated from each other and nowhere near each other, the villains wouldn't be able to kill them, unless the beings were killed in order. The main character in this book is "Number Four." He has been on the run for as long as he can remember, constantly moving. Three of the beings were killed. He was "Number Four." In this novel, Number Four is faced with whole new concepts, as he tries to stay alive and away from the villains who wanted to kill him, tries to learn how to use his new powers successfully, and tries his best not to allow a girl to distract him, with no such luck, of course. It really is a great book, and that's a lot from me, since I typically am not a fan of science fiction novels.

So Shelly tells the story of the aftermath of Michelle's, referred to as Shelly, death. She had committed suicide, and the stories are told from alternating perspectives, her best friend since young childhood, who happened to also be her neighbor, and a junior in high school, who had been in her club, and had eventually become her friend. The two guys had never really favored one another, but take on a road trip, wishing to fulfill Shelly's last wish, to scatter her ashes while playing her favorite song. As secrets are revealed and the mystery unravels, both of the boys realize the actual purpose of their journey to the spot where Shelly wished her ashes to be scattered.

"Cracked" tells the story of what it takes to drive teens over the edge and attempt to commit suicide. The story is told by the perspectives of two boys, William, referred to as Bull, and Victor. One is the bully, and the other is the victim. Bull, the bully, has been raised by his mother and grandfather in a way that no child should ever be raised. He was constantly harassed by his grandfather, who would always hit or kick or punch him. His mother was never there. Both were alcoholics, and Bull struggled to maintain a life. So he takes his anger out on Victor, who comes from a rich family, and has everything he could possibly want, except for the fact that his parents are oblivious. Victor's parents constantly remind Victor that he was a mistake, that he shouldn't have been born, that he was such a burden. They were his parents but they didn't act as parents. After getting punished for not doing "well" on the SATs, even though he earned a perfect score for math, Victor starts thinking about suicide. Meanwhile, Bull happens to find a gun with bullets inside at his house, and thinks about what would happen if he just one day shot his grandfather. Eventually, both end up in a therapy center, and unknowingly, end up as roommates. The story follows both of the boys' journeys to a better life, and portray both of the characters' immense pain. The plot was a little slow at first, but it was definitely intense, and it was overall, a great book with a great message.
